I'm having some problems with support for hardware which seems to be too
new or something...

It seems that my network adapter is not supported by the 2.4.18 kernel
(I'm running Debian 3.0). I'm trying to use the driver eepro100 for
a network adapter which is built-in on the mother board. The
mother board has the Intel 845E Chipset and the LAN chip seems
to be 82562
However for all documentation I have seen for the eepro100 driver,
only chip numbers like 82557 and 82559 are mentioned.
Whether I compile my own kernel or install from the binary distribution
-
it just won't load the eepro100 module.

Does anyone know if later kernel versions support this network adapter?
Or if support for this netword card is being worked on? Maybe it would
just be a small change in the source code by someone who knows how the
driver works?


More unsupported hardware (which is not SO important right now though):

*) My digital camera HP PhotoSmart 715 does not seem to be supported
either.
I've tried the drivers dc2xx and mdc800. I can see the USB device
being   
added when it's plugged in and being turned on, but it doesn't seem to
get
caught by any driver. The trouble shooting in USB HOWTO seems to
suggest that the camera is not supported by the driver.

*) The USB Wacom mouse + pen set called Graphire 2 does not seem to
work.
I get the funny characters when cat'ing /dev/input/mice,
/dev/input/event0
and /dev/input/mouse0 but it still doesn't work under XFree86 4.0.
I believe I've set up the XF86Config file correctly.
The documentation related to Wacom pens that I have seen also
only mention Graphire - and not Graphire 2.

*) A Webcam called "Crypto Compact Camera" (USB) is not mentioned to
be supported anywhere. I think it's made by a greek company.
However I haven't exactly tried very hard to get this to work.
I just have a feeling of what to expect... I am considering   
to sell this webcam to a Windows-only user and buying
a TerraCAM USB instead (which is even quite cheap...).


So, all in all - I feel like I'm sitting with some really neat
hardware and only lack some software that will make it useful :)

Any ideas for any of this?

I tried to attach my XF86Config-4, some output from various cat
/proc/ directories, syslog etc. - but the mailing list wouldn't
accept such a large message. I can send them if it is any help.
