Vi har et blandet miljø på mit arbejde, vor folk i flæng logger på både
Win9n og XP maskiner.

Jeg løste problemet med følgende i min smb.conf

# load platform dependent home dir setup
include = /usr/local/samba/lib/hdir_%a.conf


og sammen med smb.conf have "hdir_Win2k.conf" med dette indhold:

# Special setup for > Win98 system
# Where to store roving profiles
#       %L substitutes for this servers netbios name, %U is username
#       %N the name of your NIS home directory  server
#       You must uncomment the [Profiles] share in smb.conf
# Where profiles of Windows NT systems are stored.
        logon path = \\%L\profiles\%U
# Users home drive
        logon home = \\%N\%U
# specifies the local path to which the home directory connect
        logon drive = h:


og "hdir_Win95.conf" med:

# home profile setup for Win95 roaming users
# where to place the Win9n roaming profile
  logon home = \\%N\%U\.win9n.profile


Ikke særligt elegant, men det virker fint!
