ReiserFS og HD
Jeg har for ikke lang tid siden installeret SuSE 9 på min Dell bærbare,
og dermed ReiserFS, på et Win2000 dualboot-system. Desværre er min HD
efterfølgende blevet /meget/ træg, dvs. læseoperationer tager meget lang
tid og HD'en står og kører uafbrudt. Det gælder både under Win og Linux.
Det er tilsyneladende ikke (udelukkende) et hardware problem, idet en
geninstallation løste problemet midlertidigt. Samtidig forbedres HD'ens
yselse i perioder, uden der er nogen umiddelbar grund. Desværre går det
mest ned af bakke mht. ydelse.
hdparm vieer at HD'en er rimeligt sat op, selvom min kerne (2.4.21) kun
understøtter UDMA2. Jeg kan heller ikke finde mekaniske fejl på den, med
de diagnostiske værktøjer producenten (Hitachi) anbefaler.
Alt dette får mig til at mistænke ReiserFS for at være problemets
oprindelse.
