The proposal to merge ~swalladge/crbs:docs into crbs:master has been updated.

Commit message changed to:

Add tutorial and notes for using with MAAS

Also fix mypy linting:

- no_implicit_optional now defaults to True, which picked up some minor issues
- exclude a template file from mypy
