Latest subversion from PPA can not be installed on Hardy

I tried installing subversion on Hardy from the following PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~svn/+archive/ppa

But I get the error that package is broken.

I hope this is the right place for reporting this bug.

Here is the output:

# lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.4 LTS
Release: 8.04
Codename: hardy

# apt-get install subversion

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  subversion: Depends: libsvn1 (= 1.6.17-0svn1~maverick1) but
1.5.1dfsg1-1ubuntu2~hardy2 is to be installed
E: Broken packages
