Hi Jan,

I have talked to Aamir from ownCloud already, and Mark from the Ubuntu
UK podcast [1] also suggested a collaboration. So the project (and
it's very nice UI) is on my radar.

As I understand it, Syncany could upload/download files through
ownCloud's WebDAV interface -- so in theory, it could store files on
ownCloud. However, since Syncany breaks files into chunks and encrypts
them before uploading, they are not of much use for ownCloud. The web
interface would just see lots of encrypted chunk-xyz-files -- not nice
for users.

For ownCloud to support Syncany, it would have to be able to read
Syncany's repository format, i.e. it would need to decrypt the
update-***-files to show a list of the files, and decrypt & assemble
the chunks to download them (via the web interface).

At least that is the only way I see (at this late out :-)). Do you
have any other ideas?
