Great to see that this has already been given some though!
As mentioned, as long as we get a CLI client, a read-only web client is already done simply by pointing Apache (or any other web server) to the folder you want web-accessible, possibly with HTTP Basic authentication for a minimal layer of security.. Of course, this would not do uploads, versioning or anything fancy, but would at least provide access to your files if you're working from a computer without Syncany...
