Hi Arno,

Based on our previous discussion I'm going to start a few threads here
with some proposals. When you agree, I'll commit them. If not we can
discuss alternatives.

My first proposal is to add a new directory in trunk, presumably called
"tests". This directory will hold all sorts of test-files and scripts
that test several aspects of the code. To start with I will commit a
blend file that generates a test scan.

Next to test scans I would also like to put here testsuite files
(possibly use http://cunit.sourceforge.net/) that will help preventing
regressions in code popping up unnoticed.
