[Bug 1093529] [NEW] XBMC 12.0 RC2 does not start due to an X error

You have been subscribed to a public bug by Till Kamppeter (till-kamppeter):

Starting xbmc in a terminal window gives the following error:

till@till-nexus7:~$ xbmc
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 53 (X_CreatePixmap)
  Value in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 61
Current serial number in output stream: 68

The process keeps running until killed, for example with Ctrl+C or from
another terminal.

This happens with version 12.0~git20121220.0939-rc2-0ubuntu7. With
-ubuntu6 and -ubuntu8 the screen gets black and you have to kill the
process SSHed in from another machine or via the USB serial console.
After that you see the same error.
