Review: Needs Fixing

Hey Rob,

Thanks for doing thing.  I think it's very poor form to break backwards compatibility without at least one release beforehand announcing our intentions to do so.  I don't want to be chained to the past, but ultimately the libraries I appreciate are the ones that don't screw me over when I upgrade.

Could you please restore the export of safe_hasattr, try_import and try_imports?

Also, I think we probably ought to document the dependency in some parseable format in the setup.py for weenies who shun OS-provided package management.
