With the latest baseline (Ubuntu 12.04 + TI release PPA), a USB webcam
works using v4l2src element. However, cheese is no more supported by TI.

  cheese applet crashes with usb camera logitech 9000

Status in OMAP4 Ubuntu Multimedia addons:

Bug description:
  It seems with the latest omap4-extras-multimedia, the usb cameras do not work. I dont know if anyone has reported this issue or if there is a solution for this....
  I am running ubuntu on a Pandaboard.
