Hi Israel,

I don't think I use the 'cat /etc/*release' information elsewhere. I'm
not too worried about that for the OBI.

Are you using that information somewhere?

Can we expect there to be problems with apt-get and version management?
I don't know. I have not seen any such problem yet.
