Message #00360
programming update
Hi everyone,
A friend named Will has been helping me test and debug the menu program
more fully. It now compiles correctly using clang++ as well as g++
It also works in Debian as well as Ubuntu.... he will be testing it in
BSD soon.
Fritz (from the Lubuntu list) has been doing some extensive PPC testing,
which has uncovered some little bugs we would have found later (or not
at all). The main improvement from this is the fact that the
~/.config/autostart/
directory ACTUALLY WORKS NOW!!
So autostart in ToriOS is as easy as dropping a desktop file in that folder!
This means dropbox (and other programs similar) will simply work as
intended by the designer. If you have updated, you may notice that the
fcitx program installed, and (if you have a newer jwmrc with nice-start
listed in the StartupCommand section) fcitx will automatically run!
I have been working through some issues in the settings manager, (mostly
related to the menu program and how I search the XDG variables). So now
themes should work right, icons work right and a few other things here
and there.
Overall I have been working at squashing all the minor issues i find.
I think things on my end are getting very close to being very nice and
finished. I am also testing trusty to make sure things will work across
the board, so that once 1.0 is out, 2.0 will be a matter of building the
base and ISO with not much more programming to do.
Also, Interprog helped find a bug in fladduser as well as fixing
numerous things with some 'papercuts' in our packaging.
And someone on github has been helping me work on our ISOmaker script,
and getting that repo cleaned up!
Whew... there has been a lot of action! :)
