...note to that install observation is that I'm always installing over a
previous install, so there exists a root and swap partition to use...

Hi israel,
When installing I noticed if I select 'a Autoselect - select root and
swap partitions automatically' then the window comes up with 'NO ROOT'
and 'NO SWAP' which makes me think that maybe 'Autoselect' hasn't done
anything??
