Hey guys,
sorry I was a bit hasty, it seems. I strongly dislike what GNOME has
done to so many of my favorite applications for many years.
Forgive my haste, and harshness towards them.
I have found a work around for what was causing the issue, and I will
rebuild things again to make it work correctly. Test other things as
well please!

panel also after update & dist-upgrade, so I would not blame Gnome.
