Great, I know you are very competent but i was mostly asking to make 
sure I completely understood what your fix was.  And you confirm that I 
do indeed understand it.

Nio, this does effect ToriOS based on Ubuntu when they use the newer 
ISOLINUX.
So, AFAIK Trusty and Xenial are both effected by this
