I managed to change it by creating an autologin group, added my username to it, and changed a couple of lines in lightdm.conf.

PS: my original question should have read: how do I achieve autologin ?   ...as at install time I chose to have to login each time originally.

Hey Jack I checked and sorry it is not there... but I do need to make lightdm easier to configure...
When I get a chance I will get to this.
