Hello,

I can't get audio to work on my R500 (PPR50E-04X048EN).

Neither Debian with a 2.6.32.8 kernel I've compiled myself,
nor the Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit live CD, works.

The volume wheel works and the volume bar moves, but no
matter what I do, I can't make the computer produce any
audio. mpg123 and mplayer in Debian, the music and video
players under Ubuntu... nothing produces any sound.

I've done extensive googling but so far no luck. None of the
Linux on R500 pages I've found describe how to make audio
work.

What kernel configs and module options are people using to
make audio work? What alsamixer settings? What media
players are used, with what options?
