Another possibility would be to add another category for "new apps". The
same can be seen in Google's Playstore.

Bug description:
  With the new changes to the Ubuntu store scope it's no longer possible
  to see which apps have most recently been added.  Please add the
  ability to change the order in which apps are sorted, with the date
  they were first published as one of the options.
