This was reported to be fixed in trusty in the upstream bug report.

Bug description:
  See the attached logs. Ubuntu trusty.

  Config: Using QTest library 5.0.2, Qt 5.0.2
  PASS   : tst_QServiceDeletion::initTestCase()
  process 32047: D-Bus library appears to be incorrectly set up; failed to read machine uuid: Failed to open "/etc/machine-id": No such file or directory
  See the manual page for dbus-uuidgen to correct this issue.
