Title:
Really long login time under Ubuntu session

Status in Unity:
  Fix Released
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Something is Unity is causing compiz to fail to register with the
session manager. Running compiz outside of unity works fine.

  excript from .xsession-errors:

gnome-session[20173]: WARNING: Application 'compiz.desktop' failed to register before timeout
gnome-session[20173]: CRITICAL: We failed, but the fail whale is dead. Sorry....

That results in the session manager pausing to wait for compiz. To the
user it just looks like the computer stalled for a moment, because
there is no activity, even from the disk.

While I was reading my log I also noticed compiz is doing things with
plugins that arn't enabled. Could be unrelated, but I thought I'd
mention it. I also attached the file.
