HUD crashes compiz when used in phpstorm

Status in Unity:
  Confirmed
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Description:	Ubuntu precise (development branch)
  Release:	12.04

  unity:
    Installed: 5.8.0-0ubuntu2
  compiz:
    Installed: 1:0.9.7.2-0ubuntu4

  What happens:
  - install sun-java6 required to run PhpStorm
  - start PhpStorm
  - press alt to bring up HUD
  > desktop flashes
  > all windows jump to first workspace
  - put focus on PhpStorm window again
  - press alt to bring up HUD
  - HUD shows as expected
  - type "view"
  > only options are returned as if HUD was brought up when focused on the desktop

  What should happen:
  - compiz should not crash
  - if the application is not supported for use with the HUD make it visually clear...

  Addidtional info:
