Title:
Holding Alt does not reveal application menu on almost all software
Status in Unity:
Confirmed
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Holding the Alt key should reveal the application menu as per keyboard
shortcuts, but this only works on Gecko applications like Firefox and
Thunderbird on my Ubuntu 13.10 system.
For the rest of applications, I'm forced to use Alt+F10 and then
navigate using the arrow keys to the menu entry I'd like to press, or
use HUD. Gedit, Pidgin, Terminal, etc. won't display menus when
holding Alt.
