Title:
test_quick_run_app autopilot test fails immediately after boot
Status in Unity:
Confirmed
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
unity.tests.test_home_lens.HomeLensSearchTests.test_quick_run_app
fails if run immediately after reboot. The test attempts to enter the
search phrase "gedit" then <enter> to immediately launch it before the
search is complete. This works as long as the lenses have finished
loading, but fails due to lazy loading of lenses after initial boot.
Should the application be launched or should the test be updated to
ensure that the lenses have loaded first?
Observed with unity rev 2910 from ppa:unity-team/staging.
[Test Case]
0. Reboot
1. Immediately execute test
1. a. cd ${unity_source}/tests/autopilot/
1. b. autopilot run unity.tests.test_home_lens.HomeLensSearchTests.test_quick_run_app
Expected result - the test expects gedit to be started
Observed result - The search will stop and then momentarily display the 'no results' message in the dash. Then the dash will display the actual search results (showing "Text Editor") a few seconds later.
