Title:
Create Unity lens that shows installable software
Status in Unity:
Fix Released
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
There should be a lens in Unity that shows installable software in the
Ubuntu Software Center and Steam when doing a search in the dash. For
example, when you search for Banshee, have it bring up an icon that a
user could click on to install Banshee music player directly from the
dash.
Make sure the results for installable apps is above the Amazon lens, since a term such as Banshee could get buried under a tons of Iron folklore and urban fantasy novel presented by the Amazon shopping lens. Also, Ubuntu should promote Open Source in the forefront whenever possible.
