  menu bar flickers app name and window title when ALT+F1'ing

Bug description:
  Open gedit with a blank document
  Press ALT+F1 to highlight the launcher
  Press ALT+F1 to switch back to application
  Observe a very brief errant window title in the top bar.

  Window title goes as follows (in quotes):-

  Open gedit
  "*Untitled Document 1 - gedit"
  Alt+F1
  ""
  Alt+F1
  Text Editor (very briefly)
  "*Untitled Document 1 - gedit"
