Rob, can you comment on this?  I know you were looking into letting
lightdm live longer on shutdown.  Any obvious actions to take?  (Is it
just editing the upstart job?)

  When you long-press power and choose shutdown, the screen goes black
  and you never know when it actually did shut down. We need to make
  sure unity-system-compositor isn't shut down too early.
