[Bug 1324064] Re: lock screen doesn't allow ^U or ^W

I don't think the lockscreen it's the same scenario as bash or vim, in
general UI apps react to Ctrl+W by closing themselves, while gtk/qt text
entries by default do nothing on ^U/^W, thus I don't think it's the case
to add support for this.

If you need to quickly delete the content of the input field, you can
instead use Ctrl+Backspace (or slower Ctrl+A + anything you want) which
is more more standard in text entries than the shortcuts you suggested.

Title:
  lock screen doesn't allow ^U or ^W

Status in Unity:

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
The new lock screen password input doesn't respect the ^U and ^W
  keyboard shortcuts.

To reproduce, lock the screen and type some characters. Hit Control+U
and notice nothing changes. Hit Control+W and notice nothing changes.

Expected behavior: I would expect both keys to delete the entire
input. (While ^W deletes words in most programs, this should probably
not expose word boundaries to casual viewers.)

See how bash and vim handle ^W and ^U. I'd expect the same from the
  password prompt.

  Thanks
