Also affected on Xubuntu 14.04, laptop is a Thinkpad X220. I lose
network connectivity for a few seconds up to a minute or more when the
messages are logged.

Tried with the standard 14.04 kernel (currently 3.13.0-24-generic) and the mainline packages for stable (3.15.7-031507-generic) and next (3.16.0-031600rc7-generic)

  The message seems harmless as far as the network is concerned, meaning
  there is no problem with the wifi connection. But it's spamming the
  syslog, making it very difficult to find any other thing there, and
  it's generating constant writes to disk, and an unnecessarily large
  syslog file.
