Is everyone else here using intel video too?

Yes, flash player works.  Anything that accesses the video fails.  video
editing, vlc, etc.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04, I had this problem.  Then I updated all the
software, rebooted and it was fine.


To get around it in vlc, I used  vlc -vo x11 ....

Bug description:
  Sometimes within an Xfce session, when I try to play video, it does
  not display it, even if earlier withing the same session and even
  within same video player session the same video displayed fine. Same
  thing with VLC and Kaffeine. When I try to play video by xine, it
  exits with error:

  X Error of failed request:  BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
    Major opcode of failed request:  149 (XVideo)
    Minor opcode of failed request:  19 ()
    Serial number of failed request:  2621
    Current serial number in output stream:  2622

  Kaffeine shows similar errors in terminal, when I play video:
  X Error: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation) 11
