[Bug 1270849] Re: printer infotec isc 824 does not work
Everything looks normal to me in the error_log, must be something in the handling of PostScript by your printer.
Can you provide several printouts of the same page for comparison as described here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#Getting_the_data_which_would_go_to_the_printer for:
1) uncompressed PostScipt using your /etc/cups/ppd/infotec__ISC824.ppd driver (lp -d <printer> -o psdebug <file>), name it printout_uncompressed_works
2) there are several generic postscript drivers: which exact generic postscript ppd did you use? (otherwise attach the generic postscript ppd you used to this bug report, it can be found under /etc/cups/ppd/), provide a printout and name it printout_generic_works
3) provide a printout using your /etc/cups/ppd/infotec__ISC824.ppd (otherwise attach this ppd to this bug report) that doesn't work and name it printout_fails
Thanks,
Pascal

Title:
printer infotec isc 824 does not work
Status in “cups” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
The printer Infotec ISC 824 does not work in CUPS 1.7.0.
The printed error message is:
"""
ERROR: configurationerror
OFFENDING COMMAND: setpagedevice
STACK:
-dictionary-
"""
A reliable work-around is to include repository sources from Ubuntu
13.04 "Raring" and installing according cups-packages with:
"sudo aptitude install cups/raring libcups2/raring cups-bsd/raring
cups-client/raring cups-common/raring cups-daemon/raring cups-
filters/raring cups-ppdc/raring libcupscgi1/raring
libcupsfilters1/raring libcupsimage2/raring libcupsmime1/raring
libcupsppdc1/raring"
$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 13.10
Release: 13.10
$ apt-cache policy cups
cups:
Installiert: 1.7.0~rc1-0ubuntu5.2
Installationskandidat: 1.7.0~rc1-0ubuntu5.2
(but as already stated the behaviour was introduced by the major
change from 1.6.x to 1.7.x)
I expected it to print <a pdf file> (I tested various PDFs and other files).
It didn't print.
