Message #101159
[Bug 1456644] Re: [messaging] Resend issues
@Johannes: We opted not to resend automatically because in many cases
users like to have control over the messages they send and any potential
cost involved sending an SMS/MMS.

Title:
[messaging] Resend issues
Status in Ubuntu UX:
Fix Committed
Status in messaging-app package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
If a message is not sent successfully, testers expected the phone to
provide a resent option or to automatically resend the message when
the signal is back "Testers received a 'no network' pop up, and
the full text message stayed in the compose bar. As a result, they had
to constantly check if the network is back, and then resend the
message again.
Phone is often used on the move, and network issue can be a common
issue when on the train or around places where full of high buildings.
It is important to design for these restrictions. "
The swipe to reveal a resent option for a text message was not
discovered
------------- UX comment ------------
We already provide an option to resend from the in message view if a message fails to send. The message changes to red and previously there was a "Failed!" text below the resent icon.
Since that was not very well understood, the text should be changed to "Resend" below the resend icon.
Please amend this and for visuals see this spec:
