[Bug 1170102] Re: opening VLC will incorrectly show the close/minimize/max buttons
Thank you for your bug report. That ticket is quite old and we didn't
get recent report of the problem, also it seems to work correctly now,
closing. Feel free to reopen if you can still reproduce in more recent
versions

opening VLC will incorrectly show the close/minimize/max buttons

Bug description:
First the image: http://imgur.com/w5oLIVT
When I open VLC at it shows as the image which is, the main menu on
the top (Where the Green Circle is) and then a second, internal menu
(Where the Yellow circle is), if I try to click on the second menu
(The one with the Yellow circle) it actually clicks on the Nautilus
Window on the background, confusing me.
To get this behavior you need to:
1. Open Nautilus and leave it open full screen (This can also happen
without having Nautilus, simply by trying to open a video in VLC)
2. Look for any video and open it with VLC.
3. If the effect I am mentioning does not occur, do it again, for what
I have seen it happens about 2 or 3 out of 10. Around 20% to 30% of
the time.
4. When it does happen, you will be left with 2 menus, the most inner
one will be fake. The only one that can close, minimize or maximize
the VLC video is the most external one.
I have also left the mouse hovering on the button and as you can see,
the tooltip that is shown is actually the button from Nautilus on the
background.
There was no compiz editing or anything other than installing VLC.
This is using 13.04 right now.
