recreate this on the latest release of Ubuntu and cannot reproduce it.
This bug is being marked as Invalid.  If you believe the problem to
still exist in the latest version of Ubuntu please comment on why that
is the case and change the bug status to NEW.

Title:
  Dash is unstable. It flickers, as does the whole screen

Status in Unity:

Status in unity package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  When i click on the dash icon, it opens very slowly, the whole screen flickers with colour aberrations, as if the video driver was corrupt. It only happens with dash, and clears instantly I shut dash down.
  I am using 14.04, and this problem only happened in the last few days after an update.
