Title:
Connecting an external display doesn't enable it automatically
Status in unity-settings-daemon package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
In Ubuntu 13.04, connecting an external monitor to my Thinkpad T420
(Intel HD 3000 graphics) causes the monitor to be automatically
enabled, and the desktop extended to it. On the other hand, 13.10 and
the 14.04 development release don't do this anymore. Instead, I need
to open the System Settings, after which the external monitor is
suddenly recognized (without changing a setting, or even going into
the Displays panel). It would be great if this were automatic again.
