+ At the end of the install if modemmanager fails to install correctly do the following:
+ Open a terminal and sudo dpkg --configure -a
+ sudo reboot
+ upon returning to the desktop the open a terminal and run
+ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get autoremove
+ 
+ This should have you back at a working system with any packages not
+ needed removed.
