Title:
  Ubuntu 14.04 freezes on login

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I recently upgraded my Xubuntu installation to 14.04. After doing so,
I have been unable to use my system. It will boot fine, load up my
home screen, and after a few minutes, will freeze. Nothing can be
done, no commands give any response. I can sometimes move the mouse
around, but cannot click on anything or make any changes to the
system. The only option I have is to use the power button to force it
  to turn off.

My first thought is that it is maybe a graphics card issue, that
somehow when updating, it turned off the third-party packages to run
NVIDIA. However, since it freezes so soon (and sooner every time you
boot), it is almost impossible to diagnose the issue.

  Help?
