[Bug 1501312] Re: Allow syncing bookmarks between devices

I think in the near future the Ubuntu Store will be capable of remember
the apps we've install in a previous time. So when we brought a new
phone the apps will be automatically installed... And since the ubuntu
store is connected to the credentials "ubuntu one" some kind of storage
must exist. The same could be applied to the ubuntu browser. Now its a
matter of financial decision according to the goals canonical wants.
But, at least, one "ubuntu one manager" could be interesting... choosing
what to sync and what not to sync.

Other suggestion, could be an option in the browser like "login" and the
user could enter his google account or yahoo, and syncs his data from
chromium.

Or even the two options...

Of course, making the "ubuntu one manager" is more "valuable" in terms
of marketing... And I really believe that canonical will face this
decision in the future .

Thanks for the answer Oliver! Keep the good work ;)

Title:
  Allow syncing bookmarks between devices

Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hi,

I don't know if this is the right package to report, but here it goes.

For now we use the ubuntu webbrowse on the phone, but we can also use
it on the desktop (is shipped by default). So, if remember in the past
there was an option for the ubuntu one to store your bookmarks, and
then you could sign in a new computer and he restore those bookmarks.
I think it only worked with firefox by the time. And I think this is a
great idea to bring back, since we now have our own browser.

This takes a new approach to 'convergence'. It takes it to a all new
level, and makes the interaction between phone&desktop a lot more
  desirable for the user.

By now, we use the same code, the same UI... but adding this feature
(and others) makes a lot sense to the user.

I know we're in the early days of development, but I think this is the
path we're going to, sooner or later.

I've searched this 'bug', and I haven't found nothing. So if it is a
  duplicated one, I'm sorry. :)

  Thanks!
