I’m not seeing that when running the latest trunk of webbrowser-app on my desktop: when visiting that page, the search field is initially focused (as expected), and the "Search Terms..." placeholder text is just that, a placeholder that disappears when focusing the field.
I also tested on my krillin running the latest rc-proposed, and I’m not seeing that issue.

On which device are you seeing that, and with which versions of
liboxideqtcore0 and webbrowser-app ?

  Prefilled text / focus issue for text field

Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I wasn't sure how to title this, please adjust as you see fit.

  1) Visit http://gatherer.wizards.com/
  2) Click on the text field that says "Search terms..."
  3) Notice how the text "Search terms..." doesn't go away and instead, you are editing it

  On other browsers, the page starts with that text field focused.  And
  though when you click away, you do see the "Search terms..." text,
  clicking on the text field clears the text.
