[Bug 1517538] [NEW] Crashes after exiting fullscreen

Public bug reported:

I have noticed that recently upon going fullscreen in VLC on Ubuntu
GNOME 15.10 with GNOME 3.18 that on most occasions when I exit
fullscreen (even if I've only been in it for a few seconds) I get logged
out of my user session (my computer automatically puts me in TTY2 for
some reason at startup although there is another GUI session (not
console) in TTY7) and get taken to the user session at TTY7 where I am
met with the thing with the time on it that I have time slide up to log
in, though it is a metal colour (and not the one I set it to for
anything): Metal.png

But it is not even as though my user session has simply been somehow
moved there as that is actually a separate user session that asks me to
log in and not to unlock my old session. And when I then go to TTY2,
instead of finding my session, I find the console login screen of TTY2.
So now I am basically unable to use fullscreen in VLC (it doesn't appear
to happen when using anything else) because my session seems to get
destroyed every time.

And I am not sure if this is a bug with VLC or Xorg, so I thought I
should report it under both, I am also not sure if it would just happen
with VLC, but so far that has been the only fullscreen application to
have this happen at the same time as it running.
