So you’re plugging a mouse to the device, which prompts unity8 to switch to windowed mode, right?
In that case, this bug is a known issue: bug #1504084. I’m marking this one a duplicate, feel free to undo this if I misunderstood the issue.

Title:
The browser still requests mobile version of sites even in desktop
mode
Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Accessing sites with mobile version such as Facebook and Youtube still
shows the mobile version eventhough the UI is in desktop mode. The
more appropriate behavior is that the browser should only identify
itself as a mobile/touch device when in Staged mode but should be
treated as PC when in Windowed mode.
