[Bug 1521923] Re: Wrong desktop file messes up rotations

Well, the camera .desktop file declares:

X-Ubuntu-Rotates-Window-Contents=true

This is exactly for apps that rotate inside (e.g. camera), if you're
starting an app that does not react to orientation changes, but declares
that in their .desktop file, it's the app's fault, no?

** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
Wrong desktop file messes up rotations

Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  run this on device:

  phablet@ubuntu-phablet:/usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/qt5/examples
  /ubuntu-ui-toolkit/examples/ubuntu-ui-toolkit-gallery$ qmlscene
  --desktop_file_hint=/home/phablet/.local/share/applications/com.ubuntu.camera_camera_3.0.0.604.desktop
  ubuntu-ui-toolkit-gallery.qml

Part of the app is hidden behind the status bar, and on rotation only
the status bar rotates, not the app.

I guess the camera-app desktop file is not supposed to be used with
other apps, but still Gerry said that this behavior should not happen.
  Hence, this bug report.
