  e.g.

  $ powerpc64le-linux-gnu-ld --verbose |grep SEARCH_DIR
  SEARCH_DIR("/usr/powerpc64le-linux-gnu/lib64le"); SEARCH_DIR("/usr/powerpc64le-linux-gnu/lib");

  that should read (like in vivid):
  $ powerpc64le-linux-gnu-ld --verbose |grep SEARCH_DIR
  SEARCH_DIR("=/usr/powerpc64le-linux-gnu/lib64le"); SEARCH_DIR("=/usr/local/lib64le"); SEARCH_DIR("=/lib64le"); SEARCH_DIR("=/usr/lib64le"); SEARCH_DIR("=/usr/powerpc64le-linux-gnu/lib"); SEARCH_DIR("=/usr/local/lib/powerpc64le-linux-gnu"); SEARCH_DIR("=/usr/local/lib"); SEARCH_DIR("=/lib/powerpc64le-linux-gnu"); SEARCH_DIR("=/lib"); SEARCH_DIR("=/usr/lib/powerpc64le-linux-gnu"); SEARCH_DIR("=/usr/lib");

  Acceptance criteria: all cross ld versions include the system search
  paths.
