  [SigmaTel STAC9200] ALSA test tone not correctly played back

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I am using external speakers plugged in to the headphone jack on my Dell laptop....I get no sound when the jack is plugged in at the headphone jack....when I pull the jack out I get sound....help
  Not sure what else to report, sorry if this is a duplicate!
