Title:
[IDT 92HD71B7X] ALSA test tone not correctly played back

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Hello,

When switching off an HP dv-2140us with a fresh/clean Ubuntu Lucid
install, an audio pop noise can be heard, similar to a DC transient on
  a loudspeaker.

This has happened before on an old computer of mine (as reported
here), but newer Ubuntu releases (including Lucid) have fixed the
  issue.

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Thanks.
