Title:
Partly hidden cursor/selection pointer
Status in messaging-app package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
The blue pointer/arrow is partly hidden by the auto-completion area.
This happens when you try to select a text in the last line of a message. Then it is very difficult to move the selection's start and end position.
Both orientations (portrait and landscape) are affected.
Suggestions to solve the problem:
A) Hide the auto-completion area when entering the selection-mode.
B) Bring the cursor pointer on top. (Overlap with the auto-completion area).
C) Always reserve space for the pointer.
Solution A and B will raise drawbacks in future when if this area might be used for displaying alternatives for the selected text.
Solution C reduces the usable display area.
