Looks like a potential candidate for this regression

.

Title:
[regression #209] after flashing with --wipe the keyboard does not
appear (rebooting fixes it)
Status in “ubuntu-keyboard” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Last known good build: mako@utopic-proposed#208
Affects:
mako@14.09-proposed#11
krillin@14.09-proposed#2
On RTM image #2 we're finding that after flashing with --wipe, any
time the keyboard should be opened, it isn't - a simple example is to
compose a message in the Messaging application. Rebooting the device
makes this problem go away.
