[Bug 1532551] [NEW] no response from printer

Public bug reported:

I have a very old dot-matrix printer, Epson LX-400 model P70RA. I am attempting to link it from a USB port on a laptop running a Lubuntu version of Ubuntu 14.04. I have been trying to use a ppd file
     /etc/cups/ppd/Epson-LX-300plus-ibmpro.ppd
which I have seen recommended. My output from lsusb is
