This seems like a nice idea. The music app also remembers which view I
was in and, if I kill and re-start the music app, it comes back with
previous view showing.

  Remember my choice for album or artist view

Status in unity-scope-mediascanner package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  By default, the MyMusic scope shows my local music by artist - which
  isn't what I want. I have to change it to by 'Album' manually every
  time. It makes it impractical to use until scope implements a memory
  of the users choice.
