[Bug 1533943] [NEW] package libcolumbus1-common 1.1.0+14.04.20140325.3-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: package is in a very bad inconsistent state; you should reinstall it before attempting configuration

Public bug reported:

this crashes the computer, I pressed ctrl+alt+f1 and it gave me a manual
config command if I remember its: sudo apt-get --configure -a

I'm not 100% positive this crashed the system, but the system requested
updates and we installed these than we got a black screen after logging
in. Every time we rebooted the computer we were always able to login
but received a black screen including the guest account.
